Is an FPC Right for Your Producer Group?

Building a commercially viable agribusiness can involve collective scale, market access, and institutional support. A Farmer Producer Company (FPC) enables eligible primary producers to pool resources, improve bargaining power, and explore direct market linkages for farm inputs and produce.

1

Collective Scale & Direct Market Linkages

An FPC can enable primary producers to aggregate agricultural produce, purchase farm inputs at bulk rates, establish post-harvest storage or processing facilities, and explore direct linkages with institutional buyers and markets.

2

Producer-Centric Governance & Limited Liability

An FPC operates with the liability structure of a company while following the applicable Producer Company governance provisions. In a Producer Company consisting of individual members, voting is generally based on the principle of one member, one vote, subject to applicable statutory provisions.

3

Tax & Institutional Funding Guidance

Guidance on tax provisions and government support schemes that may apply to eligible Producer Companies, subject to prevailing law, scheme guidelines, eligibility criteria, and approval.
